CITYLINK INTRODUCES UNCONSTRAINED, AFFORDABLE 1GIGABIT PER SECOND FIBRE OPTIC NETWORK

Ultra 1G Service Delivers 1Gigabit/Sec Fibre Optic Performance With Affordable Usage Based Pricing Approach

CityLink introduces transformational new fibre optic broadband service for the Auckland and Wellington CBD markets with the introduction of the Ultra 1G service. Transformational for two major reasons. Firstly the 1Gbps speed of the Ultra 1G is completely unconstrained by data rate limits in either direction or by any sharing of capacity with other customers. Secondly it creates a shift in the affordability of full capacity fibre optic networking by introducing a pricing approach that is based on the overall monthly level of actual capacity usage rather than speed limits. The Ultra 1G usage pricing make it the most affordable ‘pure play’ 1 Gigabit per second fibre optic network service available in New Zealand today.

The Ultra 1G service makes exclusive use of symmetric capacity 1Gigabit per sec fibre optic links directly between the customer premise and the CityLink core network, giving full benefit to the fibre optic speed advantage. Citylink monitors the overall level of usage of the Ultra 1G links and uses this to determine the overall monthly cost. Pricing for Ultra 1G starts at $625 per month retail (GST excluded).
