CityLink helps to grow New Zealand's 3rd largest Telco
Since it was established in 1996 CallPlus has grown into NZ's third largest full service telecommunications company, as well as being the largest New Zealand owned and operated phone company.
CallPlus can meet all of its customers business telecommunications needs from traditional services like voice, fax and calling plans right through to full provision of ISP and data services.
CallPlus have built their competitive advantage on making smarter use of new technology than the incumbents and that means using the best networks available.
The CallPlus Challenge
As CallPlus' business grew rapidly, they found they needed to expand their network infrastructure extensively in the Auckland CBD without the time and expense required to build and maintain their own infrastructure.
CallPlus needed a network supplier who could provide and install high speed infrastructure that gave unlimited access, while providing efficient maintenance and technical support, which would ensure they could provide the best possible service for CallPlus and their customers.
CityLink's "high fibre" Solution
CityLink provided CallPlus with their FibreLINK product, installing dedicated "point to point" dark fibre circuits between various buildings within the Auckland CBD, thus enabling CallPlus to expand its core network in order to provide excellent access links to CallPlus customers.
Because FibreLINK is a dedicated private fibre optic circuit, it enables CallPlus to implement a totally secure network between specific Auckland customer sites providing almost limitless bandwidth with no artifical constraints allowing CallPlus the freedom to innovate while retaining full control over their network capabilities.
The Benefits of a high fibre diet
As CallPlus Planning and Development Manager Keith Barnett say "CityLink have provided us with a reliable service and always meet their deadlines, our overall network architecture has improved, making it more robust and reliable."
